Witness appeal after child abduction at knifepoint

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after a child was abducted at knifepoint on Anglesey.

Six people were arrested following the kidnapping on Wednesday afternoon (4th November) – the suspects are still in custody.

North Wales Police say they’re keen to hear from anyone who was in the Cae Glas area of Gaerwen between 3.45pm and 4pm – or on Cyttir Lane, near the Tesco supermarket in Bangor between 3.50pm and 4.10pm.

The child was found safe and unharmed in a car which was stopped by police in Northamptonshire that evening.

Detective Inspector Chris Bell said they also wanted to hear from anyone who saw two cars linked to what’s being described as ”a fast-moving investigation”.

He added: ”We are appealing to anybody who witnessed a silver Citroen Picasso with the false number plate, YD58 UVC in both Gaerwen or Cyttir Lane to come forward.”

”We are also keen on speaking to anybody who may have seen a silver Ford Galaxy with the registration DG13 WML in the Cyttir Lane area.”

”Anybody who was in either area at around the same time and who may have dash cam footage, or private CCTV is also urged to get in touch.”

Inspector Bell said officers were keen to reiterate that it was an isolated incident and not a stranger attack.

Anyone with information about the abduction should contact North Wales Police on 101, quoting reference no. 20000670162.
