Two escape plane crash at Caernarfon Airport

Two people have been injured after a plane overturned at Caernarfon Airport.

Police say the crash occurred as the light aircraft was landing in a nearby field at around 1.15pm on Saturday afternoon, hitting a perimeter fence. The plane did not catch fire although crews were called out to the scene by air traffic control.

Both the pilot and the passenger walked away from the plane with only minor injuries – they were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor for a check-up.

The Air Accident Investigation Branch has been informed of the crash.
