Seven injured in Dolgellau crash

Seven people have been injured in a two-vehicle crash near Dolgellau.

Two people were seriously injured in the collision on the A487 near the Cross Foxes Inn at around 3.40pm on Sunday afternoon (16th December). They have been airlifted to a specialist trauma unit at the Aintree University Hospital in Liverpool.

Three people have been taken by ambulance to Wrexham Maelor Hospital and two more have been taken to Ysbyty Bronglais in Aberystwyth.

At least two fire crews, five ambulances and the Coastguard helicopter attended the scene of the crash, which closed the road for around six hours.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewelyn from North Wales Police said: ”We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to please come forward. Anyone with any information is urged to call 101 quoting reference W178635.”

Police said no further details would be released until the next of kin have been informed.
