Sarah Wynn Griffiths has been nominated for a ‘Seren y Sîn’ (Star of the Scene) award in the ‘Y Selar’ magazine’s awards for her work on MônFM and Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd.
From radio shows, to interviews, to online music festivals and plenary sessions, 2020 was a hectic time for Sarah, who also makes her own music.
The aim of the ‘Y Selar’ awards is to reward contemporary bands and musical artists who have been active in the Welsh language scene over the past year.
A panel of contributors at ‘Y Selar’ magazine compiled long lists for the categories based on nominations from the public. Now, the choice will be back in the public domain with the vote to select shortlists and winners.
Instead of a big gig in Aberystwyth, the award winners will be announced during a week of programming on BBC Radio Cymru from 8th – 12th February 2021.
Sarah said ”I’m very emotional to be nominated for the prestigious award by ‘Y Selar’. Music is my life and being an artist myself, I make sure I give the artists the attention they deserve. I love presenting on MônFM and Radio Ysbyty Gwynedd and am very proud to be presenting on both stations. Thank you so much for the nomination.”
Tony Jones, acting chairman of MônFM said: ”We wish Sarah Wynn the best of luck on her nomination in the Selar awards, Sarah is always committed and willing to give stage and assist bands and local artists on her weekly radio show on MônFM.”
