A man has been arrested following a serious crash in south Gwynedd last month.
A woman was left seriously injured after a silver Toyota Corolla hit a tree on the A496 between Barmouth and Bontddu in the early hours of Monday 5th August.
The driver of the Corolla has been released on bail, pending further inquiries. The car suffered ‘extensive’ damage in the collision.
Police have renewed their appeal for any witnesses to the crash to come forward. They’re particularly keen to track down a man who spoke to both the male driver and the female passenger at the scene.
DC Aron Humphreys said: ”He was said to be driving a dark coloured vehicle and was believed to be travelling to the London area. I would encourage this person to make contact with police.”
”I also appeal to anyone who may have seen the silver Toyota travelling along the road prior to the collision to come forward or anyone who may have dashcam footage from their vehicle.”
Anyone with information should contact DC Humphreys at Gwynedd South CID on 101, quoting reference no. 19100430760, or the North Wales Police control room via the live webchat.
