There’ll be at least one Welsh Alliance side in the final of this season’s FAW Amateur Trophy.
League leaders Holyhead Hotspur are aiming to reach their second final this season when they face Llandudno Albion at a neutral venue on Saturday 7th March.
Hotspur reached the last four after last Saturday’s 3-0 win at Welshpool Town – with top scorer Chris Jones bagging a brace after Corey Jones took the lead in first half.
Their opponents – currently fifth in Division One – booked their place in the semis with a 2-0 win over Risca United at Maesdu Park on Saturday.
The winners of the Holyhead-Albion semi will face either South Wales Alliance club Baglan Dragons or Welsh League outfit Penydarren BGC in the decider.
Hotspur, who reached the final of the 2011-12 Trophy, are currently flying high as they look to secure promotion back to the Cymru North at the first time of asking.
Darren Garmey’s men have also reached the final of the Cookson Cup, where they’ll face either Denbigh Town or Nantlle Vale, who meet at the end of the month.
Attention now turns to the Mawddach Cup next Saturday when Hotspur are due to travel to Llanrwst United, before the league campaign resumes at home to Llandyrnog United on 22nd February.
