Tributes have been paid to a motorcyclist killed in a crash near Bala over the weekend.

Michael Williams from Wrexham died after a two-vehicle collision involving a car on the A494 at Llanfor on Monday afternoon.

The 57 year-old, known to his friends as Steve, was described by his family a ”beloved dad, a lifelong friend” and ”our ultimate hero”. His funeral will be held at Pentre Bychan crematorium on Wednesday 23rd May.

In a statement issued via police, Mr Williams’ family said they were heartbroken by his death, describing him as: ”An avid sports fan, who we would love to watch football, golf and darts with – we even forgave him for being a Chelsea fan.”

”If he wasn’t busy in his garage working on his next bike project, he would be helping myself, my husband and my brother with dog-sitting, taxiing or DIY. He could also be found enjoying drinks with friends; favouring a G&T after his recent health kick.”

”When he had a well-earned day off, for decades he has adored riding many a motorbike throughout North Wales with friends and his soulmate; with the Ponderosa being one of their favourite spots.”

”His friends and family will remember his bad dancing, good taste in music, love of good food (sometimes bad) and him being one of the most helpful and hardworking people you will ever meet.”

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash or anyone who may have dashcam footage. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference no. W059333.
