Elderly man critically ill after Pentraeth collision

An elderly man is fighting for his life in hospital after he was knocked down by a car in Pentraeth.

The collision, involving a burgundy coloured Ford Focus, occurred near the Bull Inn pub on the A5025 at just before 10pm on Monday night (16th December).

The man was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor but later transferred to a specialist trauma unit at the Royal Stoke University Hospital with life threatening injuries.

Police believe the driver of the Ford Focus may have needed to take evasive action to avoid the pedestrian. They’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward.

Sergeant Meurig Jones from the Western Roads Policing Unit, said: ”We are keen to speak to anyone who may have had to do so or anybody who has dashcam footage to contact us.”

”The A5025 remained closed for several hours whilst officers conducted their investigations.”

Anyone with information should contact the Western Roads Policing Unit on 101, quoting reference no. X180938, or via the live web chat on the North Wales Police website.
