An inquest into the death of a nurse in a three vehicle crash has been opened and adjourned.

Rebecca Louise Edwards (34), from Llanberis, was killed in a collision on the A499 at Penrhos, near Pwllheli, last month.

Another driver, Osian Hicks Thomas, from Criccieth, will be sentenced next month after he admitted causing Ms Edwards’ death by dangerous driving. A judge has warned him to expect a lengthy jail term.

A Home Office pathologist told a brief hearing in Caernarfon that Ms Edwards died from multiple, very severe injuries in the crash.

North West Wales coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said the hearing would be adjourned due to the sentencing at Caernarfon Crown Court on 4th February.

He said he would review the evidence before deciding whether to resume the inquest. A death certificate for Ms Edwards will be issued.
