Tributes have been paid to a biker killed in a Bank Holiday crash on the A470.

Andrew Tunnicliff died when his motorcycle struck a Fiat 500 at Roman Bridge, near Dolwyddelan at just before 2pm on Monday afternoon. The 53 year-old was from Stoke but lived in Warrington.

In a statement, Mr Tunnicliff’s family said he was a ”loving partner, son, brother and uncle”. They added: ”He was a kind, loving, caring – a clever man, a big Port Vale supporter and a computer genius. Andy will be greatly missed by all.”

Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, which closed the road between Betws y Coed and Blaenau Ffestiniog for around five hours.

Sergeant Anja Macleod from the Roads Policing Unit said: ”Our thoughts remain with Mr Tunnicliff’s family at this sad time. We continue to appeal for any witnesses or to anybody who may have been travelling along the A470 at the time of the collision and who may have dash cam footage to contact us.”

Anyone with information should call North Wales Police on 101, quoting reference no. W070404.
