Toddler named after A55 crash death

A young boy killed in a car crash on the A55 has been named.

21 month-old Elis Wyn Owen died after a Ford Mondeo collided with a lorry near Gwalchmai last Sunday afternoon (16th February).

His mother remains in a critical condition at the Royal Stoke University Hospital – she was a front seat passenger in the Mondeo. The driver escaped unharmed.

Police are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.

An inquest into the crash is expected to be opened in due course.
