A three-year old girl has been seriously injured after she was hit by a car on a Llangefni estate.
A 19 year-old local man has been arrested and bailed following the collision involving a black Ford Focus at Pencraig at around 4.45pm on Sunday afternoon (7th June).
Police say the child was taken by air ambulance to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool with serious head injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.
The driver left the scene of the collision on foot but was found in Llangefni town centre a short time later.
He was questioned on suspicion of failing to stop, drug driving and driving without a licence or insurance, before he was released pending further inquiries.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said two air ambulances, two emergency ambulances and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the scene.
Sergeant Meurig Jones from North Wales Police said: ”We are appealing for anybody who may have seen the car being driven prior to the collision, or to anybody who witnessed the incident itself and is yet to speak to us, to contact us immediately.”
