A Pwllheli bodybuilder has died following a motorbike crash over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Huw Moss Hughes (25) suffered serious injuries in the collision with another motorcycle on the A487 near Dolgellau on Sunday afternoon. He died on Wednesday at the Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Police are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash, which occurred from the Cross Foxes towards Tal y Llyn lake.
In a tribute, Mr Hughes’ family described him as a ”hardworking, fun loving son, partner, father, big brother and friend”. He was due to take part in a national championship during the Bodypower event at the NEC in Birmingham this weekend.
In a statement, the family said: ”Huw was loved by us all and will be very sorely missed. He was a proud father to a 6-month-old daughter who he was besotted with. Only last year he passed his plastering qualification with distinction and he worked hard for the family building company.”
”He enjoyed working out, especially weightlifting…he was so popular amongst all his friends. As a family we were so incredibly proud of Huw and our lives will never be the same without him.”
A second motorcyclist escaped unharmed from the crash. Sergeant Meurig Jones said the family was being supported by a specialist liaison officer: ”Our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this difficult time.”
