Motorhome destroyed in Bangor fire

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorhome was destroyted in a fire which spread to four cars in Bangor.

Two crews were called to Beach Road at around 10.30pm on Saturday night (22nd September).

They took around two hours dealing with the incident, which occurred near a playing field, just opposite the city’s fire station. An investigation into the cause of the blaze is continuing.

No one was injured but both the motorhome and one of the cars were left gutted by the blaze – three other vehicles were also badly damaged.

A North Wales Fire Service spokesperson said they received as many as 14 calls from members of the public.

Crews from Bangor and Llanfairfechan used two hose reel jets, four sets of breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to put out the fire.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the Beach Road area between 10.20pm and 11pm on the night of the fire.
