A man has died in Caernarfon Castle following Remembrance Sunday commemorations in the town.
Visitors to the castle were evacuated after the man was taken ill in one of the towers. All entrances were cordoned off.
The Welsh Ambulance Service said they were called out at around 11.40am on Sunday morning (10th November) following reports a person required urgent medical attention.
The Wales Air Ambulance also attended the scene, landing in the nearby Slate Quay car park, along with police and paramedics – but emergency services were unable to save the man.
No further details are available about the incident and Cadw, who manage Caernarfon Castle, have yet to comment.
Earlier that morning, the annual Remembrance Sunday parade was held in Castle Square to commemorate fallen servicemen and servicewomen who lost their lives in conflict.
