Man arrested after A499 crash

A man has been arrested after a two-vehicle crash on the A499 which left a man seriously injured.

The crash involving an orange Ford Ranger pick-up and a Volkswagen Caddy van occurred between the junction for Dinas Dinlle and Allt Goch at just before 5.10am on Friday morning (5th October).

A local man, who was driving the van, was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor – his injuries are not life threatening.

A man from outside the area is being questioned on suspicion of falling to stop after a serious crash and dangerous driving.

Police are appealing for witnesses who saw the orange Ford Ranger being driven from Caernarfon to Penygroes between 4.30am and 5am.

Earlier, officers said they were concerned about two men who left the scene of the crash before emergency services arrived.
