Man admits unprovoked attack at bus stop

An unemployed man has pleaded guilty to carrying out an unprovoked attack at a bus stop in Bangor.

Sion Derfel Jones from Bethesda admitted punching and kicking 61 year-old Richard Morgan at the Bethesda stop on Ffordd Gwynedd last month. He also breached a criminal behaviour order.

Mr Morgan was waiting for his bus home from the city centre when he was approached by Jones (39), who claimed he had ‘tombed’ him.

The defendant alleged at an earlier hearing that he was buried by Mr Morgan in his garden using a JCB. But Caernarfon Crown Court heard Jones had suffered from delusional beliefs.

He was remanded in custody until sentencing on Monday 11th June.
