JD Cymru Premier
Caernarfon Town 1-1 Cefn Druids
Caernarfon: Darren Thomas 5′

A frustrating start to the new season has left the Canaries with just two points from their opening three games. It didn’t take the Cofi Messi long to score their first goal of the campaign, heading home a corner kick whipped in by Leo Smith.

But merely three minutes after the break, Ryan Kershaw swerved a 25-yard low drive which narrowly evaded keeper Alex Ramsay’s fingertips for the equaliser. And despite a flurry of chances, the Ancients’ defence kept out the Canaries, who have yet to register their first league win.

They could yet break that duck on Friday night, when they travel to early strugglers Airbus under the glare of the Sgorio cameras.

JD Cymru North
Bangor City 3-1 Buckley Town
Bangor: Azizou Zoumbare 17’/54′, Francesco Serafino 49′

After last weekend’s stalemate at Conwy, the Citizens went some way to put a summer of discontent behind them.

Early pressure led to Azizou Zoumbare finding the opener from close range on 17 minutes, but City keeper Gabriele Brino was wrong footed by Pat Hinchcliffe, who levelled just after the half hour mark.

Four minutes after the break, a swinging corner from Francesco Serafino evaded the scramble in front of goal and straight into the net to retake the lead for Bangor. Then, on 54 minutes, Zoumbare – an omnipresent threat all game long – grabbed his brace to cap off City’s first win this season.

Next up is the maiden Gwynedd derby of the season – away at winless Porthmadog – on Saturday.
