Fire breaks out in Caernarfon town centre

An investigation is beginning into how a big fire started at a shop in Caernarfon town centre.

Six crews were called out to a mobile phone store, Get Connected, on Pool Street at just before 8.50am on Monday morning (20th August).

Several nearby properties, including flats and shops, were evacuated but it’s believed no one has been injured and the fire has been prevented from spreading. The street remains closed.

Firefighters are expected to remain at the scene for some time as they dampen down.  A spokesperson for the North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets were used to tackle the blaze.

A joint investigation is underway, involving both the Fire Service and North Wales Police.
