FAW Trophy: potential shocks in second round draw

After the opening round in South Wales last weekend, 17 teams from Anglesey and Gwynedd are among those entering the FAW Trophy in the second round.

Among the pick of the ties from Wednesday’s draw in Cardiff, the newly revived Glantraeth – now of the Gwynedd League – can cause a potential upset when they host Welsh Alliance outfit Penmaenmawr Phoenix.

The same can be said of Llanfairpwll. Having resigned from the third tier league ahead of the new season, the Anglesey League club have been drawn at home to another Alliance side, Y Felinheli.

Llanrug United could be on the receiving end of a potential shock when they visit Maesdu Park – the home of Llandudno Amateurs from the Vale of Clwyd and Conwy League.
