Llangefni police hunt for would-be burglars

Police in Llangefni are looking for would-be thieves who tried to break into a family’s house last weekend.

A property at Tan Y Fron was targeted at some point between 2am and 10am on Sunday 26th November. The burglars tried to force open a window and door on the ground floor using a crowbar or a similar object.

But the offenders were unable to enter the house and may have been disturbed by the family’s pet dog, who was slightly injured in the incident.

PC Ian Edwards said: ”I’m hoping someone will have seen some suspicious behaviour, equally there may be people who have knowledge of the incident. We are all fortunate to live and work in a low crime area but this type of crime should remind us all to take care, be vigilant and always ensure your property is locked and secured. We need assistance to help prevent these incidents in the first place so please report any suspicious activity immediately.”

Anyone with information should contact Llangefni police station on 101, quoting reference no. RC17178871, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
