Drugs crackdown: three men arrested in Bangor raid

Three men have been arrested in a further drugs raid at a house in Bangor.

Class B controlled drugs were seized from an address on Belmont Street on Thursday morning, along with cash and other items.

The suspects – two Merseyside men, aged 17 and 54, and a 46 year-old local man, are being questioned on suspicion of possession with intent to supply and money laundering.

The raid, carried out as part of Operation Scorpion, followed fifteen arrests on Tuesday in Operation Zeus, the biggest drugs crackdown by North Wales Police in almost twenty years.

Nine men charged with conspiring to supply cocaine were remanded in custody by Caernarfon magistrates on Thursday. A tenth man facing similar charges will appear in court next month.
