An man has been arrested on suspicion of carrying a firearm in Amlwch.
The 25 year-old local man was detained after armed police were called out to Mona Street at around 12.30am on Friday morning.
The suspect was caught near a pub after a sighting by a member of the public – he is now being questioned at Caernarfon police station. No one was injured in the incident.
The arrest comes in the middle of a national firearms surrender campaign which began across the UK on Monday. North Wales Police say weapons and ammunition can be handed in safely at stations in Bangor, Caernarfon and Holyhead until Sunday 26th November.
