Cash stolen in Holyhead church burglary

Police in Holyhead are looking for thieves who broke into St Cybi’s Church at the weekend.

A cash box and cash was stolen from the church on Stanley Street at some point between 2pm on Friday (20th October) and 8.30am on Sunday (22nd October). It’s understood thieves forced their way inside through a small stone-arched window.

The churchyard has become a known troublespot for anti-social behaviour in recent months.

Officers have warned local businesses and residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity straightaway.

Anyone with information about the burglary is urged to contact PC Les Ellis at Holyhead police station on 101, quoting reference no. RC17160426 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
