The A55 was partially closed after a caravan lost its roof while travelling in strong winds.
One lane was shut eastbound between junctions 4 and 5 (RAF Valley – Rhosneigr) on Wednesday afternoon when the roof was ripped off and ended up on the side of the carriageway. No one was injured and the road was reopened within two hours.
Elsewhere on the island, there is a 30mph speed limit in place both ways over the Britannia Bridge, because of strong winds between junctions 8A and 9. Most ferry crossings from Holyhead to Dublin went ahead, but the 11.50am swift sailing with Irish Ferries was cancelled.
A Met Office yellow warning for heavy rain in Gwynedd, southern Anglesey and west Conwy expired at 3pm with winds reaching around 49mph in Rhosneigr and Valley before gradually easing.
