Two men wanted after fake gold bars sale

North Wales Police

Detectives are looking for two men after counterfeit gold bars were sold to a Caernarfon shop.

CCTV pictures have been released of the men, who offered the bars to the Cash for Gold store on Bridge Street at around 4.30pm on Wednesday 9th August.

The owner brought the bars in the belief they were genuine after carrying out initial checks. But when they were sent away to a London company, further tests revealed they were counterfeits.

A man in his twenties and wearing a baseball cap made the transaction while a second man stood behind him.

Anyone with information about the two men should contact PC Gareth Horne at Caernarfon Police Station on 101 (quoting ref no. RC17121059) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
