A man’s body has been found in the search for a missing French tourist on Cader Idris in Snowdonia.
Mountain rescue teams discovered the body above Llyn Cau at around 1pm on Wednesday. The body has yet to be formally identified.
The search was carried out following the disappearance of a 30 year-old man – named by police as Mathieu Dantigny – who failed to return to his hotel in Bala on Sunday. His car was later found in the Minffordd car park near a trail-head to Cader Idris.
Rescue teams from Aberdyfi and South Snowdonia were involved in the search, along with the Caernarfon coastguard helicopter and two dogs from Search and Rescue Dogs Wales.
