Double blow for Llanfairpwll FC

Llanfairpwll FC’s manager has quit the club after eight months in charge.

Ex-Bangor and Porthmadog coach Ioan Llewellyn took charge at Maes Eilian last October, replacing Steve Smith. His departure was confirmed on Monday night, citing personal reasons.

The Welsh Alliance club struggled last season, finishing bottom of Division Two after winning just two of their 28 league games.

Llanfairpwll’s long-standing chairman Steve Mullen has also stepped down from his role. In a statement, the club said his resignation was a ”a step towards breathing new life into the club”.

They added: ”The club and committee would like to wholeheartedly thank Ioan for his hard work and commitment last season and extend huge thanks to Steve Mullen for his many years on the committee, as chairman and in other roles and both will be sorely missed.”

The club are inviting anyone interested in becoming the new first team manager to email club secretary Alan Mummery at [email protected]
