A carpenter charged with dangerous driving which led to a crash on the A499 has been granted conditional bail.

James Leach (29) from Chelford, near Macclesfield, was arrested after a two vehicle crash near Penygroes early on Friday morning (5th October).

The driver of a VW Caddy van, Ifan Price, was left with multiple injuries – he is recovering at Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.

Llandudno magistrates heard Leach, the driver of an orange Ford pick-up, was working in Abersoch at the time of the crash. He did not enter a plea during the hearing on Saturday morning.

He was released on bail but must not drive or contact any witnesses nor enter North Wales except to appear in court. Leach will appear before a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court next Thursday (11th October).

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the crash to come forward.
