Health chiefs are to take over a Holyhead surgery from next Spring.
The Betsi Cadwaladr health board will take control of Cambria Surgery from 1st April 2019, after GPs announced in June they were terminating their contract to provide their services.
The health board says two new full-time GPs will be hired – but efforts to find new partners to run the surgery have failed. Around 5,500 patients served by Cambria will be transferred.
Wyn Thomas, the board’s assistant director for primary care in the North West, said: ”To ensure Cambria Surgery continues to provide services…Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board will take over the management of the surgery and the employment of the staff there.”
”We would like to reassure patients that there will be a continuity of services for the practice and there is no need for them to take any action or to register with a different GP practice.”
