A man has died after he fell into the river at Abergwyngregyn.
Emergency services were called out to the River Aber at just before 4pm on Tuesday afternoon (6th October).
The search ended when the man’s body was recovered from the water at around 7.15pm. His next of kin have been informed – they are being supported by specialist liasion officers.
It comes just days after a number of homes in the village were flooded for the second time in three months when the river burst its banks.
The Coastguard sent its search and rescue helicopter from Caernarfon along with two rescue teams.
Three fire crews attended the scene along with the Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Team, police and specialist water search rescue teams.
Detective Chief Inspector Alun Oldfield from North Wales Police said: ”Our heartfelt sympathies are with the man’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time.”
”An investigation is now underway to establish what happened, and as such we are unable to make any further comment.”
