A stretch of the A55 westbound was closed for more than nine hours after a lorry fire.
Three crews were called out after the blaze broke out near junction 5 at Rhosneigr at just before 2.30am on Tuesday morning (19th November).

It took over two hours to bring the fire under control. No one was injured but an investigation into the cause of the fire is continuing.
The eastbound carriageway was reopened at just after 5am but the westbound side remained closed throughout the morning while recovery and clean-up work took place. One of the three fire crews remained at the scene.

Traffic was diverted between junctions 4 and 6 (RAF Valley – Llangefni) until one lane was reopen at just after 10am. The road was fully reopened by midday.
