A55: biker seriously injured in Bank Holiday crash

An investigation’s continuing into the circumstances surrounding a crash on the A55 which left a motorcyclist seriously injured.

Police say they’re looking how two motorcycles were being ridden, just prior to the collision between junctions 8 and 7 westbound (Llanfairpwll – Gaerwen) at around 2.30pm on Monday afternoon (26th August).

Two air ambulances attended the scene of the crash, which closed both carriageways for more than 90 minutes, leading to long tailbacks among the Bank Holiday traffic. The road was fully reopen by around 5.40pm.

A man in his thirties was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital with serious injuries.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: ”If you were travelling along this route between 14:25 hours and 14:35 hours…and have any information including any dashcam footage, to assist the investigating officer. We are investigating also the manner of riding of 2 motorcycles prior to the collision.”
