Search for missing Aberffraw man stepped up

North Wales Police

Searches will continue this weekend for a missing man from Aberffraw.

James Clarke was last seen in the Newborough area at around 8.20pm last Sunday night (8th November), heading towards the A4080 in an unknown direction.

In the past week, rescue teams and sniffer dogs have carried out extensive searches for the 40 year-old in both villages.

Renewing their appeal for help, Chief Inspector Owain Llewellyn from North Wales Police said: ”We are extremely concerned for his welfare and that concern grows with the passage of time.”

”I am extremely grateful to the assistance already provided by the local community but would like to appeal again to anyone who was using the road network in the vicinity of Newborough, Malltraeth or Aberffraw and saw anyone walking during the evening of Sunday 8th November to contact us.”

Detectives have also asked local residents to check any sheds, outbuildings or barns in which someone could have taken refuge.

Anyone with information should call 101, quoting reference no. 35463, or via the live web chat on the North Wales Police website.
