Rescue teams join search for missing Aberffraw man

North Wales Police

Search and rescue teams have been combing two villages for a missing man.

Police say concern is growing for the safety of James Clarke from Aberffraw.

He was last seen in the Newborough area at around 8.20pm on Sunday night (8th November) – it’s believed he was heading onto the A4080 in an unknown direction.

Môn-SAR (Môn Search and Rescue) and SARDA (Search and Rescue Dogs Association) have carried out extensive searches.

Chief Inspector Owain Llewelyn from North Wales Police said: ”We are extremely concerned about James’s welfare.”

”I am asking for residents, especially those living between Newborough and Aberffraw to support this search by checking any sheds, outbuildings or barns in which someone could have taken refuge.”

”I would also ask anyone that has CCTV footage of the A4080 between Newborough and Aberffraw or who picked up or saw anyone walking along the A4080 after 8.20pm on Sunday 8th November to make contact with North Wales Police.”

Anyone with information should contact police on 101, quoting reference no. 35463, or the live web chat on the North Wales Police website.
