Menai Bridge: driver investigated after ‘near-miss’ crash

Police are investigating a near-miss collision in Menai Bridge.

A black Vauxhall Corsa narrowly avoided a man when it crashed into a wall near Ysgol David Hughes on Pentraeth Road at just after 11am on Thursday morning (24th September).

Two men and a woman were in the car, which had been travelling from the direction of the Four Crosses roundabout at the time. There have been no arrests but the driver is under investigation.

PC Daniel Edwards from North Wales Police said it could have easily have been a ”serious, if not fatal, collision”.

He added: ”The pedestrian, although shocked, was uninjured however was extremely lucky…I am appealing to anybody who may have witnessed the Corsa being driven prior to the collision to contact us.”

”Anyone who may have dash cam footage is urged to contact us immediately.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Edwards at the Roads Policing Unit in Llandygai on 101, quoting reference number Y141315, or the live web chat on the North Wales Police website.
