Bangor: ‘homicide’ inquiry after man’s death

A man is being questioned after a death near a hotel in Bangor.

Detectives have launched a ‘homicide’ investigation following a disturbance near the Waverley Hotel on Station Hotel at around 10.30pm on Saturday night (19th September).

A 20 year-old local man was injured in the incident – he was taken by paramedics to Ysbyty Gwynedd, where he later died.

A local man was arrested at the scene of the disturbance and remains in custody.

The coroner for North West Wales, Dewi Pritchard Jones, has been informed and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Superintenent Nick Evans from North Wales Police said: ”Our thoughts remain with the family who are being supported by specially trained officers.”
