Woman killed in Bontddu Hall fire named

A woman who died in a fire at a 19th century mansion in south Gwynedd has been named.

Yung Ton-Sung was rescued from the blaze at Bontddu Hall, near Dolgellau, last Friday morning (5th June). The 70 year-old from Surrey was pronounced dead at the scene.

North West Wales coroner Dewi Pritchard Jones said a post-mortem examination would take place this week.

Police and fire officers are investigating the cause of the fire, which is not being treated as suspicious.

It’s understood the hotel’s owners were carrying out restoration work to turn it into a private residence.
