Porthmadog will face top-flight opposition in the third round of the Welsh Cup.
Sion Eifion Jones’ men will travel to Cymru Premier club Penybont next month, following their 4-1 win over Gresford Athletic on Saturday.
Port were the only club from Gwynedd and Anglesey to progress in the cup, thanks to goals from Ifan Emlyn, Ilan ap Gareth, John Owen and Sion Parry.
While the Traeth club have continued to pick up form after a poor start to the season, their hosts are still struggling to adapt to life in the top tier of Welsh domestic football. Penybont are second bottom in the table with just two wins from their opening 13 league games.
Caernarfon Town also enter the fray in the third round – but they’ll be keen to avoid an upset when they travel to Goytre United.
The Cofis reached the quarter finals last season – beating old foes Bangor City along the way in a memorable derby – before slipping to a 2-1 defeat against Connah’s Quay Nomads.
Their opponents are twelfth in the Cymru North – with three wins so far this season – but the three time champions of the former Welsh National League will relish the chance to go one further than last time round, when they were knocked out by Camarthen in round three.
Caernarfon missed out on the chance to return to the top three of the Cymru Premier on Friday night, when they lost 3-0 at Newtown.
