Gerald Corrigan murder: man in court on conspiracy charge

A man charged in connection with the murder of Gerald Corrigan has been remanded in custody.

Gavin Jones (36) from Bryngwran is accused of conspiracy to pervert the course of justice by destroying a Land Rover Discovery vehicle in an alleged attack last month.

Jones spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address, during a brief hearing before Caernarfon magistrates on Tuesday morning (23rd July).

Prosecutors told the court there was a direct link between the defendant and the case against Terence Whall (38), who has been charged with Mr Corrigan’s murder.

His defence made no application for bail and Jones was remanded in custody until Tuesday 27th August, when he’ll appear before a judge at Caernarfon Crown Court.

Mr Corrigan, a retired photography lecturer from Lancashire, died from his injuries in hospital after he was shot with a crossbow outside his home near Holyhead on Good Friday.

Whall, also from Bryngwran, is on remand in custody until a plea hearing, due to take place in September.
