A woman is in hospital after a two vehicle crash which closed the Britannia Bridge.
The A55 was closed after a silver Honda Civic car collided with a lorry on the eastbound carriageway at just after 11am on Thursday morning (11th July). The HGV ended up shedding its load.
The driver of the Honda car was taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with minor injuries.
There were long tailbacks in and around the Menai Bridge, Llanfairpwll and Bangor areas as a result of the crash.
Both sides of the A55 were shut for around 40 minutes at lunchtime while recovery work took place. The eastbound stretch was finally reopened at around 2pm.
Sergeant Meurig Jones from the Roads Policing Unit said the heavy traffic at the time of day, along ongoing nearby roadworks, led to significant delays.
Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward, particuarly if they were travelling on the bridge at the time of if they have any dash cam footage of the crash.
