Two teenage girls have been rescued after their kayak capsized off Treaddur Bay.
The RNLI said a crew were called out at around 2.30pm on Sunday afternoon (14th April) after the pair were spotted clinging onto rocks near a lagoon.
One of the girls suffered suspected spinal injuries and was placed onto a stretcher, before she was taken by ambulance to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor.
One of the four-strong volunteer crew was washed overboard by the swell while the injured girl was being rescued from the rocks.
Crew helmsman Dafydd Griffiths said: ”The crew were excellent and carried out a textbook operation quickly and in difficult conditions.”
Another volunteer, Sion Owen, added: ”It was fortunate that we got there as quickly as we did. I would not like to say what would have happened if we had been only a couple of minutes later.”
