Cheshire man charged after A499 crash

A Cheshire man has been charged after a two-vehicle crash near Penygroes.

James Leach (29) from Chelford, near Knutsford was arrested after the collision on the A499 between the junction for Dinas Dinlle and Allt Goch at just before 5.10am on Friday morning (5th October).

The driver of a VW Caddy van, which collided with an orange Ford Ranger pick-up, was taken to hospital with serious injuries – but they are not life threatening.

Leach stands accused of dangerous driving and failing to stop after an accident. He remains in police custody and will appear before magistrates in Llandudno on Saturday morning.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to contact the Roads Policing Unit in Llandegai on 101, quoting reference no. W141782.
