Pwllheli FC have been reinstated to Division One of the Welsh Alliance.
The Rec club were relegated to Division Two at the end of last season after finishing bottom of the table with just six wins from 28 league games.
But Pwllheli have now been given a reprieve after Trearddur Bay United pulled out of the Alliance last week, blaming a shortage of players. Llanfairpwll also resigned and will now play in the new look Lucas Oil Anglesey League.
Pwllheli’s season will now start at home to Mynydd Llandegai on Saturday 11th August, followed by trips away to Greenfield (18th August), Llanrug United (Wednesday 22nd August), Penrhyndeudraeth (25th August) and Llangefni Town (Wednesday 29th August).
Manager Ben Ogilvy said on Monday: ”It is never nice to see a football club struggle and have to do withdraw. Everyone here at Pwllheli FC wish Treaddur Bay all the best for the future and hope to see them back playing soon.”
”After a disastrous season…we have made several changes at the club, on and off the field, to make sure we improve on last season. We aim to take full advantage of this opportunity given to us and we can’t wait for the season to start.”
Pwllheli have also organised an extra pre-season friendly against Y Felinheli on Thursday night (6.45pm ko, The Rec).
